Neither, and that distinction matters. There are no treatments here. No workouts. No cucumber water. Nordic Haven is a guided ritual — a structured practice rooted in Nordic sauna tradition that has been done the same way for generations. You move through heat, cold, and stillness in sequence, led by a guide who holds the entire experience. It is the most effective thing we know of for resetting the body and quieting the mind, and it requires nothing from you except showing up.

No. The most common thing first-timers say afterward is that they wish they’d come sooner. Every session is fully guided — your guide tells you when to enter the sauna, when to go to the cold, and when to rest. You never have to make a decision or manage your own time. First-timers and regulars move through the same ritual at the same pace. The only thing that changes is how deeply you feel it each time.

We are finalizing our first site in the Encino, Studio City, and Valley area of Los Angeles. The exact location will be shared first — and only — with people on the founding list, before any public announcement. We chose this region deliberately. More on that soon.

Founding sessions begin Fall 2026. Founding Members will participate in private pilot sessions before that. Public booking opens to Initiates first, then the broader list, then everyone else. We will not rush the opening. When the space is right, you’ll be the first to know.

The guided ritual runs approximately 60 minutes and includes a short welcome, three full rounds of alternating sauna and cold immersion, guided breathwork and rest between rounds, and time in the lounge afterward. The 60 minutes is the structure. What happens after — in the lounge, over tea — is yours. We don’t rush anyone out.

A swimsuit and a towel. That’s the whole list. We provide everything else — tea, robes for the lounge, and whatever else you need to feel completely taken care of. Arrive a few minutes early. Leave your phone in your bag before the rounds begin. Beyond that, bring nothing.

Eight. Not nine. The barrel sauna holds ten and we cap it at eight because the difference between a full room and an intimate one is those two people. This is a deliberate choice we will not change for revenue. The intimacy is the product.

Phones are welcome before and after the rounds. During the ritual — from the first sauna entry through the final cold plunge — they stay in your bag. This is the only rule we have and it’s the one people thank us for most. You’ll understand why before the first round ends.

Because the ritual deserves its place in the week. Nordic Haven is not a daily utility. It is not a gym you squeeze in before work. It is a practice for when you have the time and space to actually feel it. The weekend is when Los Angeles is looking for something worth doing. We intend to be that thing.
